About John Hart

John Hart Engineering

I am a small precision engineering business offering bespoke design and machining solutions for the restoration enthusiast and hobbyist.

Being a fully qualified Toolmaker with over 35 years experience derived across Shipbuilding and Aerospace industries, I was often approached to manufacture components for friends and club members. The problem was they found it difficult to access affordable engineering services for one off bespoke design and manufacture solutions for their projects.

This drove me to bring together my passion for restoration projects and my enthusiasm for British machine tools. Current additions to my workshop are: Harrison M300 Centre Lathe with Newall two digital readout, Myford VM-F turret Milling Machine with Mitutoyo three axis digital readout to name but a few. Having a full understanding of a hobbyists requirements and restoration projects I am able to offer one off and small batch sizes for components or modifications. Currently I am working in aluminum, brass, marine grade stainless steels, steel and nylon. My portfolio includes parts for yachts, prototype development projects, and restoration of scooters, motorcycles and steam engines.
